The Society instituted the Hilary M. Weston Award in grateful recognition of her patronage as Lieutenant Governor. Since 2002, the award has supported selected youth who otherwise could not afford to participate in the Society's training programs. For recipients of the award, the Lifesaving Society waives the examination fee and provides the required literature at no charge. The Society urges the Affiliate Member, under whose auspices the individual takes the training, to waive its registration fees.
Ontario Area Chairs and Affiliate representatives are empowered to nominate specific youth in their communities who would benefit from the Hilary M. Weston Award. Send nominations including the name and contact information of the nominee with supporting rationale to the Society's Member Services Director.
