CERTIFICATIONS
Q: Where do I find my Member ID?
You can find your 6-digit Member ID on the bottom right corner of your permanent certification. If you cannot find your Member ID, please contact us.
Q: Where do I find my Web Access Code?
You can find your 8-digit Web Access Code on the tear-away portion of your Lifesaving Society certificate. If you cannot find your Web Access Code, please contact us.
Q: Can I find my certifications/awards online?
Go to the Find a Member page, enter your 6-digit Member ID, and click "Get Certifications" to review your transcript and certifications.
Q: How long is my certification current?
Lifesaving Society certifications are held for life, but they are current for only 24 months from the date of certification, with the exception of workplace EFA and SFA, which are valid for a 3-year period. You can find your certification expiration on your Find a Member record under the column "Valid Until."
Q: I have not received my certification card in the mail.
Check to see if your award is on Find a Member. If it is, please call us so that we can check when the card was originally mailed out or if mailing information needs to be updated. If it is not on Find a Member, please contact us.
Q: How long does it take to receive my certifications?

Q: How do I change my address, email or phone number?
Lifesaving Society members who have registered on lifesavingsociety.com can update their contact information on the website. Click LOGIN on the right navigation menu of the home page and then click Profile on the left navigation menu. Any changes you make are saved to your Lifesaving Society member account.
Q: How do I register on lifesavingsociety.com
Click LOGIN on the right navigation menu of the home page and then click "register." Enter your name, email address and create a password. Link your account to your Lifesaving Society member record. You will need your Lifesaving Society Member ID and your Web Access Code.
Q: I am moving. How do I transfer my certifications?
If you are moving out of Ontario, contact our branch and let us know which province you would like your certifications transferred to. If you are moving to Ontario, contact the Lifesaving Society branch where your awards are currently held and let them know you would like to transfer your certifications to Ontario. It takes a few days to process. Once processed, we will contact you with your Ontario member ID.
Q: My instructor/examiner/trainer awards are going to expire; how do I recertify?
Earn four points through professional development (taking courses/teaching) within two years of wanting to recertify. Login to your Lifesaving Society account to recertify or fill in the Leadership Recertification Points form and send it to LD_recerts@lifeguarding.com. Learn more.
Q: My awards are expired; am I still eligible to recertify?
Yes, you can still recertify expired awards with the exception of Standard First Aid. Please review the Standard First Aid recertification policy.
Q: Can I use my International Lifeguard award in Ontario?
If your awards (Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Lifeguard) are from Royal Life Saving Society from Commonwealth countries, we do accept them with the intent to use them as prerequisites for other courses. Other awards that fall outside of these parameters are not accepted as equivalencies. Application for Recognition of Non-Canadian Certifications
Q: I have first aid with another organization what do I do?
Check out the link "First Aid Prerequisites" to view a list of training agencies that can be used as a prerequisite for a Lifesaving Society award. Once you have verified that the First Aid certification was offered by an approved agency, scan or take a photo of the certification card and send it to certifications@lifeguarding.com so we can update it to your file.

Q: How do I find a course in my area?
We publish course information on our Find a Course page; note that this list is limited to course information provided to us by our affiliates and is therefore not comprehensive. You can also contact your local pool.
Q: How do I become a Lifeguard?
Check out the link "How to become a Lifeguard" to see the flow chart of courses needed to become a lifeguard.
Q: How do I become a Swim Instructor?
The prerequisites to take a Swim Instructor course are Bronze Cross and 15 years of age.
Q: What swimming level do I register myself or my child for?
To get the most accurate assessment, visit a local pool and request a swimming assessment to ensure you are placed in the appropriate level.
AFFILIATE members
Q: How do I offer swimming lessons in my backyard?
Apply to become an affiliate by filling in the Affiliate Member Application form. Request a swim licence.
Q: How do I offer Leadership courses?
Apply to become an affiliate by filling in the Affiliate Member Application. Ensure that the pool(s) and equipment used meet the requirements outlined in the Program Guide.
Q: How can I pay for my invoices?
- Lifesaving Society accepts all major credit cards; credit cards can be left on file for automatic processing to clear open invoices on your account.
- Access your affiliate account online to pay invoices directly (let us know if you wish to do this and one of our IT specialists will contact you to set this up).
- Pay through your bank "Bill Payment" service. We are set up with all major banks under “Lifesaving Society Ontario.”
- E-transfer payments to payments@lifeguarding.com; remember to send security password to the same email address.
- Send payment via cheque to 400 Consumers Road, Toronto, Ontario, M2J 1P8 ($25 fees apply for all NSF cheques).
Q: How do I submit test sheets?
Send all test sheets to test_sheets@lifeguarding.com within 2 weeks of the course end date of the course.
Q: Can I return materials I ordered?
Yes. LifeguardDepot.com® provides a customer satisfaction guarantee with every purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, simply return your purchase for refund, exchange or credit within 90 days of the purchase date.
All returns must be new and unused, in the original state, and deemed by LifeguardDepot.com to be in an unworn/undamaged condition prior to being accepted for refund, exchange or credit.

Q: I forgot to order materials for a course! Can I place a rush order?
Yes. Rush orders can be placed, but they are not guaranteed. The affiliate is responsible for the additional shipping charges. Affiliates should continue to place orders at least seven (7) business days prior to a course.
