We are currently looking for a Full-time Aquatics & Sports Supervisor that enjoys partnering with team members to implement enjoyable programs and experiences for members of all ages at our North York location.

The Aquatics & Sports Supervisor role is critical in overseeing the day-to-day swim lesson instruction and on-deck supervision and delivering training to ensure high quality programs are implemented for exceptional and enjoyable learning experiences. In addition, the role is responsible for responding to member inquiries and oversees the activity planning, coordination of daily schedules, supervision and mentoring of camp programs and special events.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Required Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Monitor and supervise all aquatics and camp programs, ensuring the safe delivery of all programs for members of all ages.
  • Track employee/contractor hours and submit bi-weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Hire and schedule staff for Aquatics programs, including Aquafit.
  • Take initiative to ensure the smooth running of operations.
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and advise the Club Manager of replacements requirements.
  • Ensure all program needs are met
  • Ensure assessments and report cards are distributed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and Camp Counsellors and Swim Instructors/Lifeguards in the facility providing guidance, instruction and providing training.
  • Create templates for all camps on the company website (Amilia)
  • Periodically teach classes, substitute when required.
  • Maintain exceptional member experience through providing exceptional client service to meet the demands of existing and new parents and children.
  • Facilitate a collaborative and positive working relationship among Swim Instructors, Sport Coaches, Camp Staff and Department Supervisors.
  • Ensure that set-up, clean-up and maintenance of the camp facility and aquatics departments is completed.
  • Oversee and coordinate special events (e.g. birthday parties, club promotional offers etc.),
  • First point of contact for any inquiries or complaints from members related to aquatics, camp programs, and special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operation needs and requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 3-5 years teaching aquatics programs
  • 3+ years of experience leading and supervising a diverse team of Instructors
  • 2+ years of experience instructing a successful Lifesaving Society swim program
  • 2+ years of experience working in a camp setting
  • Current National Lifeguard Certification is a must
  • Current Lifesaving Society Certification is required
  • Aquatics Supervisor Certification is considered an asset
  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification is required
  • Must have Lifesaving Instructor Certification
  • Flexibility to work days, afternoons, evenings and weekends
  • Ability to commute/relocate:

North York, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Aquatics swim program: 3 years (required)
  • Supervising: 2 years (required)

License/Certification:

  • National Lifeguard Certification (required)
  • Swim Instructor Certification (required)
